But then the fact that it was only 65 degrees outside today, that pre-season Monday Night Football is back in swing, and that college students will be descending upon Blacksburg by the thousands this week made me realize... fall is just around the corner! And that, my friends, is an exciting thought.
So no, I am still not okay with the pre-emptive crocheted Santa and Mrs. Claus, but this turn-of-the-season reality has me dreaming of autumn crafts, recipes, and cool weather accessories that just warm my heart. Here are some ideas that have me longing for fall...
Homemade pumpkin doughnuts from The Family Kitchen
Painted pumpkins from Gordon Gossip
Cottage slipper socks (pattern by Lion Brand yarn, these Raveled by Post Script Love)
Hot caramel apple cider from Food Gawker
Candy corn crafts from Woman's Day
Pumpkin cinnamon rolls with caramel icing from The Girl Who Ate Everything
Striped cotton cowl from The Purl Bee
Yarn wreath from Take Heart
All of these photos remind me why fall is my favorite season (by a long shot). But what about you guys? Spiced cider and corn mazes on your mind? Still enjoying summer? share!
It was cool enough today to actually open the windows, so I'm enjoying the breeze and longing for the days of fall when we can have the windows open and curl up under a blanket instead of remaining still to keep cool :)
ReplyDeleteyou've just gotten me much more excited for fall :) and wishing i could knit.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you, Lauren! I can't wait to keep the windows open.
